Double page map of Greece with neighbouring countries of Albania, Serbia, Bulgaria and western coast of Turkey. Sailing ship and sea monster in the Adriatic. Title above top margin. Small hole above title in marginal area expertly repaired and not affecting map; otherwise in very fine condition. A very detailed map of the area, a definite improvement on the ' Ptolemaic' map included in the same Atlas (vide page 1 ), a few omissions and errors though. Naxos , the largest island of the Cyclades , is not shown while Myconos and Tinos are there. The Ionian Isles of Zante, Cephalonia and Ithaka are shown too far down the south.
