Von Den Turcten. I have for sale from Munster's Cosmographia the complete section on the history and expansion of the Ottoman Turks ( pages 1425-1446 ). It starts with a short account of all the Eastern Roman Emperors ( Emperor Constantine- image 1 ), goes on to the capture of Constantinople in 1453 by Mohamet, the capture of Serbia/Belgrade by Suleiman the Magnificent, Cyprus under Selim II the Kakoxrono Naxei in 1571 and ending with Mohamet III in 1595. Twelve portraits of Ottoman sultans/warriors are included starting with a portrait of Amurathes. On the left I have included a woodcut image of Selim II' s 'coffin-in tent mausoleum' with St. Sophia and the Seraglio Gate in the background. Twenty two pages of text with over twenty in text woodcut portraits/views.
