Das Frei Schlos Spietz. 17.5x12.7 cms. View set in a page of text of the Swiss town of Schloss Spier - am Thunersee. Exciting woodcut engraving (14.7x12.5cms.) of a battle scene on verso between the armies of Solothurn(?) and Bern (?) in 1346(?) or 1353 (?). King size axes and swords were used as well as a riffle by the soldier on the extreme right of the scene. The colour picture on the left is of today's Schloss Spier; although taken from a different angle it confirms that the place hasn't changed a bit in 400 years. Ref : MSCV12. Price: $ 120.00 |
